Jain Paneer Tikka Masala Recipe without Onion or Garlic
Ingredients:
4 tablespoons oil
1 teaspoon cumin seeds
2 medium tomatoes, pureed
1 tablespoon tomato paste
2 teaspoon coriander powder
1 teaspoon Kashmiri red chilli powder or to taste
1/4 teaspoon turmeric powder
1/2 teaspoon garam masala powder
2 cups water
Salt to taste
20 oz paneer, cubed (600 gms)
For the masala:
3-4 green cardamom pods
1 inch cinnamon stick
2-3 cloves
1 bay leaf Instructions:
Heat the oil in a pan. Add the cumin seeds and fry until they change color. Add the pureed tomatoes, tomato paste, coriander powder, Kashmiri red chilli powder, turmeric powder and garam masala powder. Mix well and cook for 2 minutes. Add the water and salt to taste. Bring to a boil. Add the paneer cubes and simmer for 5-7 minutes or until the gravy thickens slightly. For the masala: Grind all the ingredients together to a fine powder using a coffee grinder or spice grinder. Serve the Jain Paneer Tikka Masala with rotis or naan breads and raita on the side.
